Jay's Southern Cooking is family owned and operated. His sons and daughters are quite charming and the BBQ is delicious. Located in Alpine this spot is well worth the drive. 2165 Arnold Way, Alpine, CA 90901.

Mister A's is the sweet choice if you prefer something a bit more upscale. Great views of downtown on the top floor near Balboa Park. The food is excellent and the atmosphere can not be beat.
